Job Description

The AJAX Software Engineer develops rich and easy to use browser interfaces for Helpstream's flagship product. You will leverage the latest in AJAX and browser user interface toolkits, integrated with Helpstream's own SaaS architecture components.

The ideal candidate will have expert level experience with Javascript, DHTML, XML, CSS, and cross-browser compatibility issues, and a track record of compelling web user interface design. Experience with object-oriented design, JSP and JSTL, Java, and relational databases (MySQL) are a major plus.

• Develop use cases and user interface wireframes.
• Help define feature requirements and design (data model, security rules, etc.)
• Code web pages using JSP, JSTL, HTML, Javascript, and AJAX toolkits.
• Own full life-cycle of product features - concept, development, bug fixing, production release, and maintenance.

Skill and Experience Requirements for Core Responsibilities

• Experience with a Web 2.0 hosted service using AJAX techniques.
• Expert knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAX.
• Expert knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues
• Skill with XML, XPath, and regular expressions.
• Working knowledge of Internet Protocols, Networking, and TCP/IP preferred.
• MySQL or other relational database experience preferred.
• Open-source experience (preferably open source AJAX user interface toolkits)
• High energy, self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytical.
• 5 – 7 years experience and BS CS, Math or related degree preferred.
